The principal's short message will go here.

Wow, it just seems like yesterday I was welcoming everyone to school and now we are out for Christmas break. While it seems like just yesterday,  we have had a lot happen and still have a ways to go.

First, of all I would like to extend a HUGE  thank you to all of the students at Farrer Elementary School. We have been working hard and our weekly test results are starting to show marked improvement. I am confident that our teachers are doing great things in the classroom that are translating into great scores on these weekly assessments.  So, I also want thank our teachers for putting in a lot of extra time to ensure are students are learning.

Second, I would like to inform parents of our school website. Geovanni Guzman, our Title 1 coordinator/facilitator, has done an amazing job updating our information. We  would like to keep parents informed about upcoming events as well as provide resources to help students and parents be successful at Farrer.

Next, please come into the school and see our building plans. We are excited about our new school. Right now we are on target to begin the construction process in March. Please continue to check the PTA newsletter and our website for updates and construction concerns/issues.  We know that we will face some challenges but when  finished we will have new school that will be beautiful.

Finally, we are working hard to make our school a great place for any student to attend, feel welcome, and be successful. To ensure that we are able to do this we have implemented a school wide behavior plan. Details about the plan are on the school website under ‘Resources’, then click ‘Parent Resources’, and then click on our ‘School-Wide Behavior Plan’. We have three basic rules of the school: be respectful, be responsible, and be safe. If we can teach our children these three expectations our environment will be predictable, positive, and safe for everyone.  With a positive environment we will be able to focus on the academic rigors that come with school. I invite everyone to visit our website and become familiar with our ‘School-Wide Behavior Plan’ which will help our school become a home away from home.

I hope you all have a great holiday break, enjoy the snow, and be sure to be  RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, AND SAFE.
